Now that summer is here and the kids are out of school the fire department would like to remind everyone to watch for the kids out playing , we would also like to remind everyone that is doing there spring cleaning to change the batteries in there smoke detectors and replace any damaged ones. This is the time of year everyone is burning sticks and leaves we just ask that you keep them to a minimum and always under control. The women's auxiliary is very busy making plans for the town festival and the pork dinner in August. Some of the things the fire department will be involved in will be the parade which will begin at 10:00am at the Mulberry Health & Retirement center on the west end of town. We will also be hosting a water ball fight on Madison street starting at 1:00pm. Blaine Butler Jr. passed his NIMS classes at Duneland school of emergency. Casey Anes & Josh Kaser are now Internationally certified scuba divers through Dunelands school also, we would like to congratulate these members and thank them for taking time to make our service better. May was election month for the department and we did have a few changes : President - Ron Kaser Vice President - Tom Smith Sec / Treas. - Casey Anes *Chief - Ron Kaser, we would like to thank Jim Sprinkles for all the hard work that he has done over the past 7 years and respect his decision to step down and take a break, Thank You Jim. * Assistant Chief - Tom Smith *Safety Officer - Josh Kaser * Training Officer - Blaine Butler Jr. * Captain - Jim Sprinkles * Medical Officer - Lee Anthrop The new fire engine is in the progress of being built so we are really looking forward to that. Again thank you Ron, Tom, & Josh for all your hard work and time that you out into that.
